Every member must know the Scout/Cub Scout Law and makes the Scout Promise at Investiture. All are encouraged to live up to the Law and Promises
Scouting is a non-formal education movement for all young people regardless of creed or race. Scouting promotes life-long learning and has from its inception practiced the four pillars of education: learning to be, learning to know, learning to do and learning to live together. The purpose of the Movement is to contribute to the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social, creative, emotional and spiritual potentials as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.
The Scout Law:
1. A Scout is to be Trusted.
2. A Scout is to be loyal.
3. A Scout is friendly and considerate.
4. A Scout is a brother to all Scouts.
5. A Scout has courage in all difficulties.
6. A Scout makes good use of his time and is careful of possessions and property.
7. A Scout has respect for himself and others.
The Cub Scout Law:
A Cub Scout always does his best,
Thinks of others before himself,
And does a good turn everyday.
The Scout Promise:
I Promise that I will do my Best,
To do my duty to God,
And to my Country,
To help other people,
And to keep the Scout Law.
